Ravindra Jadeja Sues Rajkot Newspaper Alleging Defamation Suit of Rs 51 Crores

Indian star cricketer Ravindra Jadeja sued Rajkot newspaper for defaming him with baseless and false allegations. The 26 left-handed middle-order batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler filed a legal lawsuit against the ‘Aabtak’ owner and editor Satish Mehta. Principal senior civil judge P B Parmar of Rajkot has issued an official legal notice to the editor and owner of ‘Aabtak’ against the compliant of Indian professional cricketer Ravindra Jadeja. All-rounder of Indina cricket team Ravindra Jadeja demanded Rs 51 crores for the damage endured to him by the editor and owner of ‘Aabtak’.

Ravindra Jadeja Was Alleged for Having Contacts With Bali Dangar and Jenesih Ajmera by ‘Aabtak’ Editor Satish Mehta

As per the lawsuit filed by Ravindra Jadeja on 20 November, 2014 it was exposed that Jadeja and his business partner Jenesih Ajmera were framed and wrongly stated for baseless false allegations of having contacts with Bali Dangar who is facing accusation of land grabbing and extortion. Hiren Bhatt, lawyer of Ravindra Jadeja confrmed the news of them moving to court against the daily where he articulated before the media that Ravindra Jadeja, his client had absolutely no contact with Dangar and also that Ajmera is not Jadeja’s business partner.

Hiren Bhatt acclaimed that “The paper Aabtak had published the news without verifying it and the news has damaged the reputation of my client. Jadeja has no links or has never met Dangar in his life.The newspaper says that Ajmera is Jadeja’s partner in the restaurant, which is wrong. Ajmera is not his partner in any business.”

Adding to this he said that “We had to move the court after we failed to get response to legal notices sent to the editor.” Ravindra Jadeja is undergoing treatment for shoulder injury to get total fitness ahead the ICC Cricket World Cup which would be taking place in Australia and New Zealand starting next month.
