Reliance Jio Hikes Rs 399 Plan To Rs 459 To Offer Double Data In Rs 149 Scheme, Hike Effective From October 19

The benchmarks that Reliance JIO has so far broken are just countless. Jio literally evolved as a game changer fighting against many odds. Within no time, this telecom firm has become the people’s most loved one throughout the country.

As we all know Jio has already made last year an exciting one with the whole new world of Jio4G free services. The company is constantly pushing itself into gaining new customers for their services. Now, this year Reliance Jio is going to surprise us again with something really exciting.

Thus, the telecom provider has been offering never-seen-before offers to claim the top position in the Indian telecom industry. Although the challenge is tough, the other telecom companies have managed to come up with several value-for-money data and voice calling plans to counter Reliance Jio.

Now, Reliance Jio Infocomm has marginally increased the prices of some popular mobile tariff plans effective Thursday.

Jio’s most popular plan of Rs 399 for 84 days will now be available for Rs 459 and subscribers who want to continue with the same rate will get the pack for 70 days instead. The changes kick in from October 19, the company said on its website, days after indicating that some rates will be increased to garner higher revenue from subscribers.

Meanwhile, Jio is also introducing sachets and offering more data to attract lower-spending customers. It has doubled the amount of GBs for its Rs 149 and Rs 509 packs. The Rs 149 pack, which didn’t attract many takers, will now offer 4 GB a month instead of 2 GB. Those using the Rs 509 pack will get 2 GB a day instead of 1GB.

The plan brings high-speed data to subscribers at the lowest industry price of Rs 5.2 per GB, the company said. The Company introduced a plan for Rs 52 with one-week validity and Rs 98 with 2 weeks that will offer its customers free voice, SMS, unlimited data (0.15 GB daily), as per its website.

All plans of Jio will continue to offer unlimited voice calls even during roaming. The data allocation with the Rs. 999 plan (90-days validity) will be lowered from 90GB to 60GB as part of this revision, while the 90-day validity and other details remain the same.

The operator increased the validity of its long-term plans, extending the Rs 1,999 plan to six months instead of 4 months and the Rs 4,999 plan to one year from 210 days. However, customers opting for it will get unrestricted access to 350 GB high-speed data for the plan period compared to 380 GB offered earlier for the same price.

This could be aimed at holding on to customers and preventing them from switching to rivals that have been matching Jio’s offers since it started in September 2016.
