The whole state of Tamil Nadu froze instantly hearing the death of the ‘Iron Lady’ and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jayaraman. The post-death discussions include her pending case in Supreme Court, disproportionate properties, and net worth.
Despite the above factors, a relatively young man was spotted during the last rites of Amma at the MGR memorial site, Marina Beach in Chennai, at 6 20pm on Tuesday, where she was cremated beside her mentor, MGR.
Final rites were conducted in the presence of a Hindu priest, before burying her body. However, it was known that her body was buried instead of cremation which is quite contrary to the Iyengar Brahmins customs.
This was the time, the relatively young man was spotted beside Sasikala.
Earlier, the news was speculated stating that the final rites could be performed by Vivek, the son of Sasikala’s niece Ilavarasi.
Sources say that the person who performed the last rites along with Sasikala was Deepak Jayakumar, the son of Jayakumar who is Jayalalithaa’s deceased brother.Deepak, who has lived a life of relative anonymity
Deepak, who has lived a life of relative anonymity is reported to be a real estate businessman in Chennai. He is Deepa Jayakumar’s brother. Deepa was denied entry to Apollo recently.

Sources claimed that Deepak’s “family has been estranged from Jayalalithaa and relations between the two have been rather strained ever since the grand wedding of her foster son VN Sudhakaran in September 1995. Jayalalithaa did come to their T Nagar residence, a month later when her brother (Deepak and Deepa’s father) died. Last year (2013), Deepa’s mother Vijayalakshmi too passed away. The last time Deepa met her aunt was at a film function in 2002. Her several attempts to meet Jayalalithaa in the last decade proved futile.”
Deepak did his MBA in the United States, meanwhile, Deepa completed her education in the UK, addition to this, those who visited Rajaji Hall to pay homage to Jayalalithaa through the day confirmed that they spotted Deepak with M Natrajan, Sasikala’s husband.
