RGV who doesn’t leave a small opportunity to draw the eyeballs took Sindhu winning Silver medal as an opportunity to make headlines. He compared the Indian Olympic medals with USA and South Korea.
Here are his controversial tweets on Sindhu winning a medal in Olympics.

A 32 crore population US wins 46 gold and a 5 crore population South Korea wins 9 gold nd a 120 crores population india wins 1 silver..Wah!

Combined value of 46 gold 38 silver 49 bronze compared to just 1 silver is that many times more Unka US Mahan compared to Apna Bharat Mahan?
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 22, 2016
If for 1 silver we call ourselves incredible india what should US call itself for 46 gold 37 silver and 49 bronze..just asking?
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 22, 2016
If for just 1 silver we call ourselves incredible india I wonder what we will call ourselves if we ever win 46 gold 37 silver and 49 bronze?

Varma ridiculed Indians for enjoying the success of just 1 silver medal at Rio. He compared India, a country with 120 crore population, with the US, a country with only 32 crore population, and said that the latter has won 46 gold and 37 silver medals in comparison.
RGV must realize that India is a developing country and sports-persons are trying their best to perform their best. It is the Nation to be blamed for not encouraging the talented players like Sindhu.
