Jammu: When some infiltrators crossed LoC four days ago, the security personnel conducted combing operations in the Sunderbani tehsil and found the terrorists, after which a gun fight broke out between them.
As the encounter between the two groups grew, the authorities refuted the reports of a terror attack at a CRPF camp. But the personnel ordered all the educational institutions to close down in the tehsil as a precautionary measure.
“An encounter has broken out between Nowshera-Sunderbani belt after a group of infiltrator terrorists were intercepted by the security forces today,” J&K Director General of Police SP Vaid told PTI.
He also rejected reports of a terror attack by the terrorists by terming them as “totally false.”
Three bags of ammunition with explosives were found with the terrorists from outside a CRPF camp in Sunderbani, said Rajouri SSP Yougal Manhas.
The reports said that a security guard manning the gate of a CRPF camp at Sodra in Sunderbani area fired some warning shots and also raised alarm after he detected movements of suspicion near the paramilitary camp.
The security officials have been conducting search and combing operation to find out the suspected infiltrators for four or five days in Sunderbani area.
CRPF spokesperson Ashish Kumar Jha said that there were no attacks whatsoever on the CRPF camp in Sunderbani.
He further said that the alert troops observed some movements of suspicion and started firing some warning shots.
Rajouri Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudary immediately ordered the closure of all the educational institutions in Sunderbani sector as the search operation was going on.
All the schools should remain closed in the Sunderbani division as of today as a precautionary measure, he said.
Last night, two terrorists had forcibly entered the house of Bushan Kumar Sharma in Bunpori-Yoginallah area in Sunderbani and had forced them to prepare food, which they had taken away along with them, according to reports.
There have been many such incidents in the Line of Control, with infiltrators trying to crossing the area illegally to perform some terrorizing actions. The public is very uncomfortable when such operations go on, rendering them rest less and uneasy. But as the Indian Security forces are quick to respond for such combing operations, they do find the culprits easily.
The line of control is the military control border line that passes between India and Pakistan at Kashmir and Punjab Area. It is based on lines drawn after Shimla agreement. The LoC on our side is called India-controlled Kashmir and the other side of area is called as the Pakistan controlled Kashmir. Apart from this incident, there have been many such occasions when there were encounters between Pakistan and india.
