Virender Sehwag Takes A Dig At ‘DU-Ramjas’ Violence Tweets Against ABVP’, Twitter Reacts

Former ace Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has undoubtedly started his second innings on Twitter. Viru’s sarcastic tweets during various occasions are well appreciated, known for his sense of humor and witful responses Sehwag never put is fingers in political issues.

This time, it is different. Viru, however, took a dig at Cargill martyr’s daughter on her tweet criticizing the functioning of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). In his tweet, a picture of himself holding a placard that says, “I didn’t score two triple centuries, my bat did” is included.

Sehwag made this tweet in referring to the unfortunate violence at the Delhi University on February 22. Coming to the details, the clash took place when students and teachers came together against ABVP. The conflict occurred during the first session of the two-day seminar on Indian tribals over the participation of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid. Protesting the participation of the latter, the concerned students of the both sides took on to the issue.

Meanwhile, days after the incident, Gurmehar Kaur, the daughter of Kargil martyr Capt Mandeep Singh and Voice of Ram volunteer took on to her facebook account and updated her profile picture in which she holds a placard with sensational statements cornering the ABVP. Following her picture, various other students now took it further doing the same.

Earlier in 2016, an Indian woman did a similar thing on social media against the clashes between India and Pakistan, in which she stated: “Pakistan did not kill my dad, the war killed him”.

However, Sehwag’s dig on this incident is supported by few people, opposed by many. Some suggested him to choose the opponents wisely, even slammed his for making fun out of the sensitive incident.
