Somehow, not all people get the best or biggest breaks in their career right at the start especially the Politicians of India. You will be shocked to know the education and first jobs of Indian Politicians.
Let us start with Pm Narendra Modi.
We all know that our Prime Minister comes from a very poor family. He used to help his mother with household chores and she did her best to provide for her children. Narendra Modi’s first job was a tea seller so that he could support his family. Later he grew in the political sections of the BJP and is now the Prime Minister of India. He is now an inspiration for millions of Indians.
Pranab Mukherjee:
The former Indian President has attended the Suri Vidyasagar College in Suri (Birbhum), then affiliated to University of Calcutta. He subsequently earned an MA degree in Political Science and History and also LL.B.degree both from the University of Calcutta.
His First Job was an upper-division Clerk in the Office of the Deputy Accountant-General (Post and Telegraph) in Calcutta. He later became a National Leader and Served as the Finance Minister in UPA Govt.
Mohammad Hamid Ansari
He studied at St. Edward’s School, Shimla, the St. Xavier’s College of the University of Calcutta and Aligarh Muslim University. He started his career as Officer in the Indian Foreign Service in 1961 after qualifying the UPSC exam. He is now the Chancellor of Punjab University, Chandigarh and served as Vice-Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University from 2000 to 2002.
Arvind Kejriwal
It is popularly known that he was graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, majoring in mechanical engineering. He joined Tata Steel in 1989 and was posted in Jamshedpur. Kejriwal resigned in 1992, having taken leave of absence to study for the Civil Services Examination. He resigned in 2006 and took the National Capital to storm after Janlokpal Bill Agitation and then becoming the CM of Delhi.
Sonia Gandhi
She is an Italian-born Indian politician, who has been serving as President of the Indian National Congress party since 1998. Back in 1964, she went to study English at the Bell Educational Trust’s language school in the city of Cambridge where she worked as a waitress at a restaurant where she met her Husband, Indian Politician Rajeev Gandhi. She married Rajeev Gandhi in 1968.
Rahul Gandhi
He is the Son of Rajeev Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. He attended St. Columba’s School, Delhi before entering The Doon School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand from 1981 to 1983. After his father’s assassination, he shifted to Rollins College due to security concerns and completed his B.A. in 1994 and M. Phil in 1995.
His first job was at the Monitor Group, a management consulting firm, in London. He is now the vice-president of Congress.
Manmohan Singh
Being one of the most prominent Prime Ministers of India, he served for ten years. He completed his education at Punjab University, Chandigarh and later earned masters from Cambridge University in Economics. He was a brilliant student and stood first throughout his studies.
He then went to work for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) from 1966–1969 and then became a professor at the University of Delhi.
Prathiba Patil
She was educated initially at R. R. Vidyalaya, Jalgaon, and subsequently was awarded a master’s degree in Political Science and Economics by Mooljee Jetha College, Jalgaon (then under Pune University), and then a Bachelor of Law degree by Government Law College, Mumbai. Patil then began to practice law at the Jalgaon District Court which was her first job.
She then became an MLA from Jalgaon district and even served as the Governor of Rajasthan before becoming the first woman President.
Amit Shah
Born into a wealthy family, his father was a businessman. Amit Shah did his schooling in Mehsana and moved to Ahmedabad to study biochemistry at CU Shah Science College. He graduated with a B.Sc. degree in biochemistry. He then joined his father’s business which was his first job. He also worked as a stockbroker but then joined politics. He is now the President of BJP.
Smriti Irani
This graceful minister has passed class 12 from Holy Child Auxilium School in New Delhi. She then studied at the University of Delhi. She wanted to be an actor so she came to Mumbai but to survive in Mumbai, she took a job of a waitress in Mc Donalds. She then starred in the popular daily show, ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and is now the HRD minister.
Lalu Prasad Yadav
One of the most popular political figures in India, he has studied Bachelor of Laws and a Master in Political Science from B. N. College, Patna University. After graduation, he got a job as a clerk in Bihar Veterinary College, Patna where his elder brother also worked as a peon. He later founded his own political party and then served as CM of Bihar from 1990-1997.
