Colin de Grandhomme, New Zealand bowler returned with seven wickets for the game, with six in one. The pacer was named the Man of the Match for his stellar bowling performance in the first innings.

On a sad note, Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been suspended for one Test match and fined 40 percent of his match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the first Test against New Zealand at Christchurch. Pakistan team players were also fined 20 percent of their match fee after they were ruled to be two overs short of their target of 103 overs at Christchurch.
