Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj delivered a stinging response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly carrying forward New Delhi’s effort to diplomatically isolate Pakistan. All world leaders came together at the 72nd UN General Assembly in New York.
Setting the tone for the takedown of Pakistan at the international meet, an Indian diplomat had told a UN meeting on Thursday that Pakistan had become synonymous with terror, or “Terroristan” (land of terror). Apart from terrorism, Ms. Swaraj has also outlined India’s vision on crucial issues such as climate change, people-centric migration, and UN reforms.
When Sushma Swaraj addressed the speech on 23rd of September, she talked about the connection of Pakistan with terrorism, poverty and also climate change. She gave it back to them and explained how both the nations totally differ from each other.
In her words, “We (India) are engaged in fighting poverty, while our neighbor Pakistan is engaged in fighting us. We [India] made IITs, IIMs, AIIMS. But Pakistan, what did you make? Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Haqqani network.”
She couldn’t tolerate how Pakistan accused India of terrorism and further added,
“The country that has caused the death of so many innocents is trying to teach us about humanity.India and Pakistan won freedom at the same time. But has Pakistan asked itself why India is perceived as the IT superpower of the world, and Pakistan as the pre-eminent export factory of terror? India has risen despite Pakistan’s nefarious export of terrorism. We have been a sustained democracy. PM Narendra Modi has offered the hand of peace and friendship. Pakistan’s Prime Minister must answer why his nation spurned this offer.”
However, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for her speech at the UN General Assembly saying she delivered a strong message on the dangers of terrorism. He took to Twitter and posted a series of tweets to express his views on UN General Assembly.
“A strong message was given by @SushmaSwaraj Ji on the dangers of terrorism and why we have to unite and fight this menace,” PM Modi’s first tweet read.

During her speech, Swaraj said that while India made institutes like IIT, IIM, and AIIMS, Pakistan is creating terror groups like LeT, JeM, Hizbul Mujahideen and the Haqqani Network. In her address to the 72nd UN General Assembly session, Swaraj spoke on issues like terrorism, climate change, maritime and cyber security, UN Security Council reforms, poverty, and unemployment.

We have seen brilliant statements from everyone. Even Eenam Gambhir was seen giving a mouth-shutting reply to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Prime Minister of Pakistan who said that India indulges in terrorist activities.
