Highway Horror: Speeding Car Hits Person, Travels With Body On The Roof For 3km

In a shocking incident, a speeding car on Monday night hit a man crossing the road on the highway in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar, and travelled for three kilometres with his body on its roof.

According to reports, the man who was hit was 35-year-old Srinivasulu, a labourer crossing the road at around 10 pm. The Chevrolet car hit him so hard that he was flung in the air and thrown onto the roof.

The impact of the accident was so intense that the man was flung into the air and landed on the roof of the car. However, instead of stopping the car, the driver tried to escape by increasing the speed, not realising that the body was lying on the roof of the vehicle.

However, the driver accelerated the car until the police were informed by the biker. Disturbing visuals showed blood dripping down the windscreen.

When the police and local villagers caught up, the driver jumped out and ran away, abandoning the smashed up and blood-splattered car.

According to Jadcherla sub-inspector of police Madhusudhan Goud, 35-year-old Srinivasulu, a labourer from Nimmagaddabavi village, was crossing the road near the new bus stand at around 10 pm, when a speeding Chevrolet car with registration number AP-28CK-8477 coming from Kurnool hit him.

“We received information that a car carrying a dead body on its top was going towards Hyderabad,” said a senior police officer.

The police said the car belongs to an industrialist, Rajasekhar, from Hyderabad.

This is the second such incident in Telangana this year. On January 2, a 62-year-old farmer from Nalgonda district, Venkat Reddy, was hit by a speeding Maruti Swift car belonging to a wristwatch dealer, 25-year-old Md Raheem Khan, at Narketpally on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway.

Here too the victim’s body landed on the roof of the car, but Khan continued to drive for over 20 km, before being caught by police.
