Within few days of Reliance Jio started its campaign of taking online registrations showing interest in proposed Jio GigaFiber broadband service, now Bharti Airtel too has started expanding its truly unlimited broadband data offerings in more cities. The target is to counter the taking over of broadband market by Jio GigaFiber. The offer was made just days after Airtel was seen availing unlimited broadband plans in Hyderabad without any kind FUP limits. In the same way, New Delhi based telco to broadband subscribers in Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Jamnagar, Kolkota, Ahmedabad, Indore and Mumbai among others. Airtel’s aggressive campaign also includes attractive offers like Amazon Prime subscription and data rollover plans to effectively counter the GigaFiber service being touted to serve as much as 1 Gbps download speeds.

In the beginning, Airtel was offering providing unlimited broadband data for all of its subscribers in Hyderabad. The company, as of now, has applied unlimited data for all the existing plans in the southern city, the lowest of them being Rs. 349 plan that provides 8Mbps of Internet speed clubbed with unlimited local and STD calls. As of now, due to the Jio GigaFiber service is about to launch certain circles in India, Airtel too has removed the current FUP limits for other circles as well.

Airtel subscribers in Mumbai have facility to avail the company’s unlimited broadband data with the Rs. 699 and Rs. 1,999 plans, the details of which are specified on the official website. The customers in Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, Infocity and Surat too can enjoy the offers as in Mumbai were the company is availing Rs. 1,999 plan. Apart from that, there is an offer of unlimited broadband data on the Rs. 499 and Rs. 1,999 plans in the cities of Karnal, Ambala and Agra.

It is worth noting that the company Airtel makes it clear that all those plans with unlimited broadband data with no issues of speed drop are under a limit. Apart from that, the company is also offering these plans with unlimited data for personal and non-commercial use in the same way that was debuted in Hyderabad last month. “It is clarified and stated that this benefit is only meant for personal and non-commercial use, and is not intended for any commercial use, or special or enterprise plans. The Fair Usage Policy for the unlimited plans is capped at 3,333GB (3.3TB) post which customers can enjoy unlimited speeds at 1024 Kbps,” the company disclosed in its terms and conditions.

All said, the capping of monthly limit of 3.3TB is very much enough for home-based usage and much better than what the customers of Airtel were receiving earlier to that. The operator is offering all such offers under a limit.
