Watch: Groom’s Father Killed In Celebratory Firing In Madhya Pradesh

In a shocking incident, a man was killed in celebratory firing during a wedding procession at Badnagar area of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday (27 March). The man, who was also the groom’s father, was accidentally shot and immediately collapsed on the ground.

Mansoor Patel (38), who hailed from Baloda in Dhar district, had come along with a wedding procession for the ‘nikah’ of his son Shekhar. After the wedding was solemnised, the groom’s side took out a procession and opened fire in air. However, Mansoor was fatally hit by a bullet. It was not immediately known bullet from whose gun hit the victim. Police are investigating the matter.

In the video, posted by ANI, the groom father is seen walking in front of few people loading their guns. The victim then raises his hand before a bullet hits him from one of the gunmen and then falls on the ground, who was soon declared dead.

Such incidents of injury and death during wedding celebrations are not a new thing. Recently, in March, two such incidents took place in Meerut and Baghpat areas of Uttar Pradesh in which a 16-year-old girl was wounded and another man was killed respectively.
