After enjoying a grand welcome in Hyderabad on Monday, Olympic silver medallist P V Sindhu along with her coach Pullela Gopichand has begun her road rally from Gannavaram Airport to Indira Gandhi Stadium, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
A special aircraft was arranged to carry the star shuttler. Both Andhra Pradesh government and Telangana government have tried to take credit for Sindhu’s performance at Rio Olympics.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao offered cheque of Rs. 5 crore to the Olympian. He has also offered her a residential plot in Hyderabad and a government job.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will present her a Rs 3 crore cheque. Naidu had announced a thousand square feet of residential plot in Amaravati for Sindhu.
