World AIDS Day 2017 Theme – Important HIV Facts

December 1st is known to many of us as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) day worldwide. Since the identification of AIDS there are about 35 million participated in the awareness program. But still, we are not able to conquer AIDS. The person`s condition will not leave any symptoms in the early stages to take a quick action.

India HIV Estimation 2015 says in a report that National adult on HIV is estimated at 0.26% in India. Among them 0.3% are males and 0.22% are females. The report also says that the total number of people living with HIV is 21.17 lakhs in 2015 in India. In 2007 it is estimated at 22.26 lakhs.

The World AIDS day is launched in 1988 by the World Health Organization and United Nations. Since then there are 65,780 cases reported in U.S. There are about 37,195 patients who passed away since 1981.

The main cause of this HIV transmission is that unprotected sex. This should be taken care to avoid the HIV cases worldwide.

Under the slogan ‘everybody counts,’ WHO will advocate for access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines, including medicines, diagnostics and other health commodities as well as health care services for all people in need, while also ensuring that they are protected against financial risks said the organization.

What is AIDS?

The disease caused due to HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is called as AIDS. This virus can pass from one person to another through blood; share the used needles, and sexual contact. If a woman is HIV positive during pregnancy there is a chance that baby also gets infected with this disease.

How can we avoid being infected by HIV?

One can perform a safer sex by involving the correct usage of a condom and non-penetrative sex. If people can take care of these things they can avoid being infected by HIV.
