13-Year-Old Coronavirus Victim Buried With No Family At His Funeral

The youngest victim of the coronavirus in the United Kingdom was buried earlier with no family members at his funeral because his siblings had shown symptoms of the virus.

His immediate family, which includes his 6 siblings, were unable to attend his funeral.

The younger brother and older sister of the 13-year-old currently have symptoms of the virus.

The coffin carrying the body of Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab was lowered into the ground by 4 people that were seen wearing protective gear and masks.

The 13-year-old was buried at the Eternal Gardens dedicated Muslim burial ground in Kemnal Park, Chislehurst.

Mourners all stood apart from each other as they observed social distancing guidelines that were set out by the government to stop the spread of the virus.

The 13-year-old, who is from Brixton, South London, died in a hospital in the early hours of Monday.

The kid-tested positive for the virus last Friday, a day after he was admitted to King’s College Hospital.

The kid did not have any known pre-existing health conditions.

Mark Stephenson, a family friend of the family, said the 2 siblings of Ismail had developed mild symptoms of the virus.

The 2 siblings have high temperature and are unable to taste.

They are now self-isolating.

Mark Stephenson, the director of the Madinah College, has set up a page so the family could pay the expenses of the kid.

Stephenson said before the funeral, “Shaykh Sharif Zain will be leading the funeral and I will be delivering a short speech for the Abdulwahab family and a few close family and friends.”

He added, “We hope that we can send a live stream of the funeral to his mother and siblings so they can be there remotely, but they are obviously devastated that they can’t be there in person again.”

He continued, “It’s extremely upsetting for everyone involved, but they have been very moved by the warmth and very positive messages of support from people following their appeal.”

The symptoms of the 13-year-old reportedly started on March 23, 2020.

An ambulance took the kid to the King’s College Hospital on March 26, 2020, and was placed on a ventilator.

He tested positive for the virus on March 27, 2020, and was placed in a medically induced coma.

The 13-year-old died on Monday 30, 2020, at 3 am after his lungs failed.

The kid died of a cardiac arrest.

The hospital confirmed that a 13-year-old boy had died from the virus.

The hospital said they will not be conducting an autopsy on the kid.

A spokesperson for the trust said, “Sadly, a 13-year-old boy who tested positive for COVID-19 has passed away, and our thoughts and condolences are with the family at this time. The death has been referred to the coroner and no further comment will be made.”
