A 32-year-old South African woman was shot dead by intruders as she gave birth inside her house.
Shaida Nathan, the mother of 3 kids, was shot dead on the night of June 21, 2020.
The paramedics also failed to save the baby that she was delivering when she was shot by the intruders.
According to local reports, gunmen burst into the shack of Nathan and started to shoot.
The incident happened on Klipbok Street in Scottsdene in the town of Kraaifontein in the South African state of Western Cape.
2 men accompanying Nathan were injured in the incident, they were rushed to a hospital.
According to reports, one of the men that were inside the house was the intended target by the shooters.
An unnamed relative of the victim said that the area is a notorious hotspot for crime.
The family could not return to their shacks for the next 2 days because of the shootings.
A 68-year-old resident of the area said:
Shaida was a mother of three children, one child is in foster care, the other two were with her, but I don’t know where they are now.
An official investigation is currently being carried out for the incident.
