An 84-year-old man is currently fighting for his life after he was brutally beaten up outside his house in Perth, Australia.
The elderly man, whose identity was not shared with the public, sustained serious injuries on his head and face after being attacked outside his house.
According to the police, the incident happened in Cannington in the Australian city of Perth’s southern suburbs on the evening of Sunday.
It is believed that the man left his house at around 7 pm that night to investigate a disturbance happening outside.
He was then attacked.
Authorities shared images of the pensioner with blood pouring from wounds in his head and cheeks.
You could also see the blood spilled onto his shirt.
The pensioner reportedly suffered a broken nose and a black eye.
According to Detective Sergeant Alexandra, a weapon was used.
Detective Alexandra said:
This is an 84-year-old man who’s lived in this suburb for 40 years and he’s been brutally assaulted in his front yard. They are horrific, horrific injuries that this man has sustained to his face.
The police were found by officers before being taken to Royal Perth Hospital by emergency responders.
He is currently waiting for surgery in intensive care at the hospital.
The police said that there was no legit or valid reason behind the horrible crime, which has left the elderly man fighting for his life.
Authorities are now searching for 2 white men that are aged around 25 years old and 35 years old.
They have been identified as people of interest.
No official arrests were made at the time of writing this article.
Anyone who has information about the attack, may they be CCTV footage or dashcam footage, is asked to come forward to the police.
