Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, is one of the richest persons on our planet right now, and he is using his money in good things.
Jeff, who has a $109 billion fortune, announced earlier that he will be donating $98.5 million to different organizations that offer shelter homes for families that are homeless.
Last year, Jeff Bezos set up a charity foundation, the Bezos Day 1 Fund, in September 2018.
Upon opening the fund, he pledged to donate $2 billion in making a meaningful impact in 2 areas, which are creating a new network of non-profit preschools in communities that don’t earn that well and help families that are homeless.
Reports suggest that the $98.5 million that Bezos donated went to 32 organizations in 23 different states in the United States.
It is believed that Bezos made donations from $1.25 million and $5 million.
Jeff also made a tweet about the money that he donated to the organizations in the United States of America.
He said in the tweet, “Excited to announce this year’s Bezos Day One grants. Thank you to these 32 organizations in 23 states working to end homelessness. I recently spent time with the amazing team at Community of Hope in Washington, D.C. – one of last year’s grantees.”
According to the Bezos Day 1 Fund Website, the donation that was made by the CEO of Amazon went to organizations that will help provide shelter and support for young families that are homeless in the United States.
This is not the first time Bezos has donated a huge amount for the less fortunate.
In 2018, Jeff donated $97.5 to different organizations in the USA that are fighting homelessness.
