A teenager who went missing 2 years ago was recently found alive in the closet of a child pornography suspect in West Germany.
The 15-year-old boy was found living inside the closet during a police search in Recklinghausen, which is located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The police were looking for the home of a 44-year-old man, who is a suspect of distributing child pornography when they saw the boy in the closet.
The Recklinghausen police released a statement about the incident.
The statement said, “The officers discovered a boy in the closet. An investigation showed this was a 15-year old boy who has been missing for a long time.”
The police confirmed that the 15-year-old boy went missing 2 years and 6 months ago.
The police said that there was no evidence that suggested that the boy was being held inside the apartment against his will.
The boy is currently under the protection of the police and his identity was not shared with the public due to legal and safety reasons.
Authorities arrested the 44-year-old child pornography suspect and another older man who was inside the apartment during the raid.
The older man was later released from custody.
After the raid, a judge granted a request from the public prosecutor’s office and issued an arrest warrant for a sexual offense against the 44-year-old man.
A sniffer dog detected electronic devices found a number of data storage inside the apartment.
The equipment was sent in and is currently being investigated by the police.
