Nowadays, most of the people of India are loving momos as their favorite snack food, not just because they are tasty but their easy availability also made them popular.

Yes, these cute little tasty momos are now giving tough competition to the very famous Indian snack “samosa” and have made a distinctive place, especially among youngsters.

However, there are some people who don’t keep a good opinion about momos and want them to be banned. Yes, you read it right! Ramesh Arora, BJP MLC from J&K, feels that momos are, “the root cause of several life-threatening diseases, including cancer of the intestine.”

There are already many controversies going on which are related to BJP, such as beef-eating and ban on the sale of cattle for slaughter and now this BJP MLC is running a campaign against momos.

The main reason behind Arora’s disliking for momos is that it has Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) which is also called ajinomoto and is used for increasing the taste of food items. He said,

Ajinomoto, a kind of salt, causes serious diseases, including cancer. It is responsible for converting a minor headache and migraine.”

As per National Herald, Ramesh Arora is also not happy with the fact that the “foreigners including Bangladeshi and Burmese” are carrying out the business of selling momos and this is adding more aggressiveness to his campaign.

Ramesh Arora is of the opinion that the sale of momos has decreased by almost 35% since he has started the campaign of spreading awareness about side-effects of momos through seminars and meetings. However, it seems as if some of his own party members are not in the mood of leaving momos as Jitender Singh, the Minister of State for PM Office, has been seen enjoying momos in a post on social media site Facebook.

Twitter also reacted over the matter and here are few selected tweets:

Food police:

Momos are anti-national:

Anti-momos squad be like:
