Twitter War: RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav Dig at Modi Over Yoga Triggers

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav comprehended at Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a picture of PM Modi and country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru doing yoga on Monday through his official twitter handle. Lalu Prasad tweet and the image shared by him with Modi and Nehru has triggered a war of words on Twitter where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders asserting the absence of Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s absence from the celebrations of first International Yoga Day.

Lalu Prasad Claims Nehru as Practitioner and Modi as Preacher

Tweeted picture of RJD Chief was briefed as “Difference between originality and unoriginality” with the pictures of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Narendra Modi. RJD leader Lalu Prasad tweet termed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as the practitioner and PM Modi as a preacher with a one liner tweet “Difference between practitioner and preacher. First PM Nehru ji doing ‘shirshasana’ and current PM Modi ji doing ‘Asan’.”

Picture of Nehru and Modi shared described, Nehru doing ‘Shirshasana’ (headstand) and Modi doing ‘Ardha Matsyendrasana’. Although Lalu Prasad didn’t left PM Modi as he also criticised Modi’s posture saying it was “incomplete” and that it was only for a “photo-op”.

Union Minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh quickly responded aiming at Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president-son Rahul Gandhi over their absence from the yoga celebrations which were held across the world. Giriraj Singh claimed that “Practitioner family is hiding somewhere in the globe and preacher is everywhere on the globe.”

Muralidhar Rao, Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary joined the campaign of BJP articulating “Where was RahulGandhi when world celebrated International Day of Yoga? Pandit Nehru did ‘Shirshasana’, Rahul least of all could have done ‘Vrikshasana’.” He further quicklly responded to the CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury’s remarks on yoga and said, “Communist ideas are outdated. They don’t understand the aspirations of present generation. Opinion by Sitaram Yechury on yoga reflects this.”

Social media was racked  by CPI(M) General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury’s remarks triggered a war of words between the leaders of both the party’s of BJP and CPI. Sitaram Yechury said “All yoga exercises can be noticed in dog’s body movement” which highly condemned by the BJP leaders and activists across the nation. Sitaram Yechury further added that “Mass mobilisation to celebrate International Yoga Day by the BJP-led NDA government is an attempt to promote Hindutva agenda at the cost of India’s secular democratic fabric.”
