It has been completely one-sided series for the No.1 ODI team in the world with no fight from the opposition. After losing the Test series 2-1 for South Africa, team India got back into their fighting zone to give their best and clinch the 6-match ODI series 5-1 against the Proteas.
After an impressive bowling display, Indian skipper Virat Kohli led from the front with the bat to help India beat South Africa by eight wickets in the sixth one-day international at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday. Virat is in such a good form that he scored his 35th ODI hundred and 3rd in the series to help India chase 204 in 32.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
It was a clinical performance by team India especially skipper Virat Kohli scoring 3 centuries in the series and was awarded Man of the Series, not to forget the spin twin KulCha.
Despite being opponents, both Indian and South African teams are friends off the field. We had seen many instances where the players appreciate the work of the opponents and maintain a good bonding between the two teams.
But, there is one incident that took place during the Pink ODI where Proteas spinner Imran Tahir was involved. The incident has left a bad taste as the spinner has alleged that Indian fans made racial comments on him. Tahir was not a part of playing XI in the 4th ODI played in Johannesburg. He was then abused racially while performing duties as the 12th man.
In the video, Tahir can be seen indulging in an argument with a group of fans, one of whom is in a blue jersey.
Watch The Video Here:
The incident happened in the passageway which connects the field with the South African dressing room and Tahir said that the Indian fan kept on commenting on him whenever he went through that passageway. Tahir informed the security staff and he, along with two security personnel went to identify the fan and got him ousted from the stadium.
It is absolutely clear that no physical contact has been made between Tahir and the fan.
However, after the unpleasant incident, Imran Tahir took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Thanking everyone for your support and love really humbled. I am a very simple person who believes in showing love to everyone regardless of country, color or religion. I have played cricket all over the world and have only made friends. Much love”
