Things were going badly for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) as they had been whitewashed 9-0 against team India and 5-0 against Pakistan and are now preparing for T20 series. Now, they have been rocked with harassment allegations made by a lady from Dubai.
The lady is said to be an event organizer, has claimed that an SLC official offered her through Media box and tried to convince her to stay in the room, in the same hotel where he is staying. However, the lady thoroughly denied his offer, she went to post the conversation on her Twitter handle.
The incident which was brought to light by the lady concerned via her personal Twitter handle alleging it to have been perpetrated by an official of SLC has been formally reported to SLC by the Pakistan Cricket Board. SLC confirms the accused person is neither an official or employee of Sri Lanka Cricket but is a journalist representing a private media organization.
The Pakistani journalist, Munazza Jilani has accused a Sri Lanka Cricket official of asking her to have a night with him. Munazza Jilani, who introduced herself as a sports promoter published in her Twitter handle the WhatsApp messages allegedly sent to her by the accused person.

Since the authenticity of this incident is yet to be proved, SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala has also taken the allegation seriously and ordered an immediate inquiry. “SLC President instructed the CEO to call for an immediate investigation through the SLC Security & Ethics officer,” a top SLC official told.
Sri Lanka Cricket denies the alleged involvement of any official or employee of SLC in the purported incident of harassment of a female sports promoter in Abu Dhabi. “At a time when Sri Lanka team is going to be the first international team to revive Cricket in Pakistan, this kind of shameful act can’t be ignored.”

However, Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera told that he has been made aware of the incident and will look into it.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the first two matches will be played on October 26 and 27 while the third match is scheduled to be played on October 29 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. A two-member security delegation from Sri Lanka visited Lahore to assess the conditions.
As Sri Lanka’s sports minister announced on Wednesday that he would join the national cricket team in their first match in Pakistan since gunmen attacked their team bus in Lahore eight years ago, he has joined the Pakistan tour.
Dayasiri Jayasekara said Sri Lanka was satisfied with security preparations for the Twenty20 final in Lahore later in October despite reservations from several players. In fact, many key players like Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews and Upal Tharanga already pulled out from the tour.
