India beat the Windies by eight wickets in the fifth and final match of the ODI series. The win help Virat Kohli & Co take the series 3-1 after the first match was washed out.
Team India produced a brilliant all-round display – with bat, ball and on field against West Indies in the 5th ODI. With this win, India not only won the series but also recorded their third successive series triumph in the Caribbean.
The way Windies started the innings, it looked like they will touch the mark of 280-290 but India’s fielding has made the difference. Whether talking of two catches taken by Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane, India has excelled in this aspect of the game, which has made the difference in the end.
Ajinkya Rahane has established himself as one of the best fielders for India. Especially, his catching ability at first slip against the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the key ingredients for the consistent run of Indian cricket. And the man who owns the record for most catches in a Test match (8) took a brilliant catch again.
During the 5th ODI between India and West Indies, Ajinkya Rahane presented an impeccable show of fielding by flying in the air as the Indian opener ran miles to take a tough catch of Shai Hope, to dismiss the settled batsman.
As many know Shai Hope who has been one of the best batsmen of West Indies so far looked settled at the crease and was in a mood to accelerate the team’s score in the later overs and in the quest to do so, he hit one of off Mohammed Shami.
However, the Rahane as a flying athlete saw an opportunity in it and ran miles from deep square leg and dived perfectly to dismiss Shai Hope.

It was indeed a brilliant catch as Rahane had to keep the pace going and also had one eye on the ball. He looked confident attempting the catch and in the end, succeeded in his mission of dismissing the settled batsman. It was a big blow for Windies, who was hoping for some runs from its settled batsman but a brilliant catch put a break on their hopes.
