Amidst the ongoing Sri Lankan series, a saddening news has now surfaced the mainstream news. Team India batsman Ajinkya Rahane’s father on Friday was arrested in Kohlapur, it is being reported. Madhukar Baburao Rahane was arrested after his car hit a woman, who succumbed to her injuries in one of the local hospitals. The victim is identified as Ashatai Kamble, who was a 67-years-old woman.
According to the sources, the incident took place at the national highway near Kagal bus station. However, it is still unclear as to who was in the driving seat. The information is that Rahane’s father was traveling with the family in a Hyundaii20 when the accident took place. Following the accident, people immediately assembled at the site.
Soon after the accident, the woman was taken to a nearby government hospital but sadly the 67-year-old succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital.
As of now, the case has been registered at the Kohlapur Police under the IPC Act 304A, 337, 338, 279 and 184. However, the news comes at the time when Rahane is busy with his international duties. The Indian batsman is involved in a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
