FLASH NEWS: Anil Kumble Steps Down As Head Coach For Indian Cricket Team!

Just after news about Indian Team leaving to West Indies without Anil Kumble in London came in, here’s one more flash news about Anil Kumble. After a lot of disagreement between players, Kumble finally stepped down as head coach for Indian Cricket Team.

Virat Kohli, the skipper made it clear that his relationship with the coach has reached a dead end. This happened when Virat and Cricket Advisory Committee, comprising – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman had a meeting after ICC Champions Trophy final match against Pakistan.

Kumble didn’t even accompany Indian Team for West Indies Tour as he stayed back in London. The reason behind is that “the ICC Annual Conference that started on Monday and will continue through June 23.” As he is the chairman of the Cricket Committee in-charge that takes a call on laws and regulations of the game.

 

A member of the team management confirmed that Kumble wasn’t traveling with the team. “Yes, chief coach Anil Kumble is staying back for the ICC meeting. The team is flying off to Barbados today,” he said without commenting whether he will join the team at all.

It was earlier reported that there was no much communication between captain Virat Kohli and the coach Anil Kumble throughout the Champions Trophy, hence it seems to be the final signal that the Kohli-Kumble relation is beyond repair.

India will play five one-day internationals in the Caribbean starting June 23, with a Twenty20 international wrapping up the trip on July 9. The Cricket Advisory Committee, comprising – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman must be working hard to find a new coach for Indian Team. The news about next Indian team head coach is yet to be known.

Kumble has had a very successful record being Indian coach, with a win of 12 matches and losing just one of the 17 Tests since he took in charge.
