The way India bested Sri Lanka in yesterday’s T20I was quite impressive. Bowlers contributed as much as the batsmen did. The substantial dismissals of the openers donned Indian team to restrict Sri Lankans to mere 170 total in 20 overs. Though it was Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s early take that countered Tharanga to the pavilion with the lowest score, it was Jasprit Bumrah’s astounding Yorker that became the show-stopper.
The Sri Lankan batsman, Niroshan Dickwella has a fine beginning till his deportation. He manned 17 runs in 14 balls drawing hoped just before going off the field. Bumrah who leaked 15 runs in his first over was asked to bowl again, and the Gujarati bowler has done all good for what he was asked.
Though he irked people after giving away 15 runs straight in a single over, it was his next unexpected Yorker that stunned the viewers. Dickwella tried to scoop Bumrah over the keeper and towards the third man, but the pace and length of Bumrah meant he completely missed it.
Now, as the ball went on to rattle the stumps, Bumrah managed to put brakes on Sri Lanka’s scoring, he gave away only one run in the following over.
