The final and fifth ODI match between India and Sri Lanka has been the memorable game for the visitors. The ODI series is done and dusted; Team India is on a clean sweep spree in Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue have a perfect blend in the team, of the youth and experience of aggression and calmness and this is what makes them a complete package.
Continuing the winning streak against the Lions, team India did it again in ODI series by whitewashing Sri Lanka 5-0. But, before all this could happen, the broadcaster has committed a big mistake in displaying the playing XI of both the teams.
As everyone is busy with team India’s win, Dhoni’s 100th Stumping and Virat Kohli’s 30th ODI century, the broadcaster went through a bit confusion in displaying the playing XI of the teams. After a rain delay, both the skipper got underway walking out for the toss.
Upul Tharanga, who was back in the team as a captain after serving a two-match won the toss and elected to bat first. He did choose to bat because he saw the Indian batters were capable of scoring big targets and elected to bat first.
This match is a dead rubber the Indian team management opted to make a truck load of changes. While Shikhar Dhawan opted out of the match, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel were rested for the match and they made way for Ajinkya Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
After being asked to bowl first Indian captain Kohli said, “We would’ve batted first as well; looks like a good batting track. It has a bit of moisture but we are playing an extra bowler as well today. We need to use the two new balls well and pick up early wickets. The mindset stays the same, we need to play to win and have to ensure that complacency doesn’t creep in.”
When Virat was about the team changes, he said: “We have four changes – KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Shikhar Dhawan are out, Ajinkya Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chahal, and Jadhav are back in.” When Tharanga was asked about the team changes, he said, “We have one change – Kusal Mendis goes out and I come in.”
But, here’s what went wrong with the broadcaster. It seems that he was confused about the team changes and displayed different players on the Television.
India XI Displayed By The Broadcaster:
India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli (C), Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur.
Sri Lanka XI Displayed By The Broadcaster:

Thus, this has become a blunder by the broadcaster and it is trending on social media.
