[WATCH] MS Dhoni’s 99th Stumping In ODIs, Fumbled But Executed Perfectly

MS Dhoni, the name well marked as an excellence in Wicket keeping is nowhere gone, it has been a long tenure for Maahi being the wicket keeper, with no single flaw, he has been proving himself right from the beginning.

Now, after some considerable time, lightening Dhoni is back with an impressive stump in which he sent Sri Lankan player Danushka Gunathilaka off the ground. Over the years, we have seen Dhoni work very hard on his skills behind the stumps and outfox the opposition batters with his unorthodox moves.

In the second match of the ongoing 5-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and India, MS Dhoni executed 99th stumping of his ODI career. It wasn’t the most fluent stumping of his career but it was an important one as Dhoni is just one away from becoming the first wicketkeeper to execute 100 stumping in ODI cricket.

This happened during the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal to give Team India its 2nd wicket of the second ODI at Pallekele. Aiming for the big one, Gunathilaka advanced down the pitch to face the Chahal’s delivery, however, acknowledging the opponent’s intentions, the spinner deliberately bowled a fine delivery.

Dhoni fumbled a bit but didn’t miss out on the opportunity and dislodged the bails before Gunathilaka could think of coming back in the crease. For a moment, it appeared as if Dhoni will miss it but he recovered quickly and the batsman way outside the crease.
