When Former Indian Opener Virender Sehwag was asked about the reason for team India’s loss against West Indies in ICC WT20 Semi-final match, Sehwag admitted that “MS Dhoni’s captaincy was far from good.” Sehwag said that he was baffled when Dhoni did not give Ashwin his full quota of overs.
“India lost the match because of those two no balls. Simmons was on 18 and 50. I don’t know why Ashwin bowled only two overs. He could have bowled his four overs as Jadeja (Ravindra) gave away 48 runs and Pandya gave more than 40 runs in his 4 overs. Ashwin is our main bowler and he is the best in the world and thus, I feel somehow MS Dhoni’s captaincy was not good as seen in this game,” Said Sehwag.
He also added that the toss was extremely crucial for both the teams. “Half of the game became easy for the West Indies when they won the toss,” He added.
