Veteran Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to express his disappointment after being unnoticed for the upcoming New Zealand Series. There were a lot of speculations that Gambhir would return to the national squad after a long time.
Gambhir is currently playing for the India Blue in the Duleep Trophy. He scored four half-centuries with 321 runs at an average of over 80 so far.
As Shikhar Dhawan was not in the best of the forms, it was said that Gambhir would replace Dhawan in the final squad. But the selectors went ahead with the same squad that toured the West Indies series last month.
Gambhir Disappointed:
Though he was in good form, Gambhir failed to make it to the side. He was consistent with great form since the IPL this year. After being ignored for the New Zealand series, Gambhir shared his opinion about not picking him. He said he is surely disappointed but not defeated.
I’m disappointed but not defeated; I’m cornered but not a coward. Grit my partner, courage my pride…for, I must fight, I must fight…

He added saying his grit and courage will not fall and he will continue to fight for staging a comeback to the national team.
Even Twitterati up roared after the squad was picked. Many lashed at the selectors for ignoring the likes of in-form players Gautam Gambhir.
India is scheduled to play 3 Tests against New Zealand with the first Test commencing on 22 September at the Green Park Stadium at Kanpur.
