England Cricket all-rounder Ben Stokes was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and released without charge on Monday but remains under investigation. And now, a shocking video footage has emerged Ben Stokes’ night out which resulted in him spending a day inside the cells.
Days after England cricketer Ben Stokes’ arrest over a brawl at a nightclub in Bristol, a video was released which purportedly shows the England vice-captain throwing punches at two men. According to the reports, it is said that Alex Hales was his teammate when the incident happened outside the nightclub post the third One-Day International against West Indies on Sunday.
During a new one-minute clip, a man seemingly unknown to Stokes appears to try and attack someone armed with a bottle. A man who resembles Stokes’ appearance was then seen allegedly scuffling with two men and one ended up on the ground following the incident in Bristol.
Stokes retains the England Test vice-captaincy, in the immediate term at least, despite his arrest and a broken finger on his right hand understood to have been suffered during the night out in Bristol. ECB director Andrew Strauss confirmed that stance from the governing body at a press conference following the announcement of this winter’s Ashes squad, before England’s Royal London Series victory over West Indies at The Oval.
“I don’t think right now is the time to comment on what may or may not happen from a disciplinary point of view. At the moment, what I’m doing is speaking to the players individually to get their accounts of what went on on Sunday night. There is a disciplinary protocol that is in place as part of their conditions of employment. We need to follow that for all players who may be subject to disciplinary proceedings, including Ben,” Strauss was quoted.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has also said that they have seen the video where a ‘person looking similar to Ben Stokes is seen punching another man.’
“We have seen this footage for the first time tonight. There is an ongoing police investigation that will look at all available evidence, and we do have to respect that process,” an ECB spokesman was quoted.
