The third and final Test match of 3-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka has seen some enthralling cricketing action so far. After the clear dominance of team India over the visiting team, we had seen some drama and uncalled pauses by Sri Lankans on Day-2.
The Sri Lankan players were seen wearing masks to protect themselves from the bad weather condition in New Delhi. The drama didn’t just seem to stop and there were perplexed scenes at the Kotla time and again. Even their players walked off the leaving their overs in between.
On day-4, the action was full of beautiful deliveries being bowled and clinical boundaries being hit. Sri Lankan opener Sadeera Samarawickrama hasn’t been having a very good Test match and that’s not because he has been poor whilst his time on the field, but because he has been hit quite too often while fielding.
First, Murali Vijay hit him and second Virat Kohli. And now, Samarawickrama was seen pulling off an exceptional diving effort, receiving a round of applause from the crowd as well as Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma secured fast-paced fifties before declaring the second innings on 243, giving Sri Lanka a 410-run target to chase. En route to his fifty, Rohit might have been caught at deep square leg after Samarawickrama produced an incredible diving effort but could not hold on to the ball.
Nevertheless, the effort was lauded by his teammates, the entire Feroz Shah Kotla crowd as well as the opposition skipper Kohli.

Shikhar Dhawan (67), Virat Kohli (50), Rohit Sharma (50 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (49) contributed handsomely to the Indian cause in the second innings after Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane departed cheaply. Striking early in second innings, Ravindra Jadeja struck twice in the same over to leave the Lankans reeling at 31/3.
The visitors have a mammoth task in front of them in order to force a draw. The hosts, meanwhile, have only 7 wickets to take to wrap up the series with 2-0 win.
