Australian Batsman Glenn Maxwell had smashed a swashbuckling ton against Sri Lanka in the first T20I match at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka. Maxwell hammered 145 runs off just 65 balls. It was one of the brilliant knocks in the short format cricket.
Due to his poor performance, Maxwell was dropped from the ODI squad. Since then, he worked hard and scored huge in his comeback match. He was sent as one of the openers along with Aaron Finch.
Maxwell entertained the audience with some breath-taking strokes. Maxwell knocked 14 fours and 9 sixes which itself meant 110 runs in just boundaries. Maxwell was the third batsman from Australia to score a hundred in T20Is.

With the help of Maxwell’s brilliant century, Australia also surpassed Sri Lanka’s record of highest ever team total in T20Is and posted a huge total of 263 runs on the board. However, Australia won the match by 85 runs.
