[WATCH] Hardik Pandya And KL Rahul Reveal The Reason Behind Their ‘V-sign’ Celebrations In Third Test

It was Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who stole the show in the final Test against Sri Lanka. Hardik was right on hitting every ball out of the park and created history by scoring 26 runs in an over in a Test match. However, he went to score a brilliant century which is the first ton in Tests. This comes as no surprise why it will remain special for him in his career.

Eventually, Hardik was named the Player of the Match for his efforts and he was all smiles after the game. India won the Test series 3-0 which is the first time the team whitewashed their opponents away home.

In an interactive video interview, his teammate, KL Rahul, interviewed him. Rahul showered many questions in which he also asked Hardik about the ‘V-sign celebration’ after hitting the century at Pallekele.

The most sought after a question was about the ‘v sign’ that the players had been making in the third Test. Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya celebrated their joyous moments in the game with a ‘v sign’.

KL noted that it is an internal team joke which the three had during the dinner on the eve of the Test game. He added that during the dinner, Shikhar suddenly showed up the ‘v sign’ and it was that very moment when they decided that they would celebrate this way.

Rahul asked Hardik about the feelings that he was going through during the game when he was on 99. Hardik conceded that he backed himself to play his natural game. He also noted that, in fact, he followed what KL had told him earlier regarding sticking to his aggressive game of play.

Imad or Pushpakumara:

In international cricket, Hardik is the only cricketer to have hit 3 consecutive sixes in three balls on three occasions. When asked to pick which one is his favorite, he picked the three sixes he had hit off the bowling of Imad Wasim in the ICC Champions Trophy this year.
