An unbeaten partnership of 87 runs for the 7th wicket between Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan has kept Bangladesh’s hopes of saving the Test alive as they finished the third day on 322/6, still 365 runs behind India’s first innings total.
The home side bowlers made a comeback with the wickets of Shakib Al Hasan and it was the in-form bowler Ravichandran Ashwin who came up with a breakthrough. However, the day though was not without its usual share of bloopers thanks to Ishant Sharma, Sanjay Manjrekar, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Here are the Twitter Reactions on Day 3:
“Umesh Yadav’s spell today morning was the best ever I have faced in my career” : Shakib Al Hasan! #IndvBan

Great bowling by me
If I can’t give four runs in a ball then I give singles and doubles throughout the over.
So smart.#IndvBan— Sir Umesh Yadav (@umeshyaaaadav) February 11, 2017

Umesh Yadav is a multi-dimensional Indian fast bowler. Earlier, most Indian fast bowlers could win matches only for the opposition #IndvBan

The visitors are still 165 runs behind the follow-on mark. At stumps, Bangladesh were 322/6, with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan batting on 81 and 51 respectively.
The next challenge for Bangladesh would be to avoid the follow-on and get close to India’s score, which will somehow revive their hopes of salvaging a draw.
