Team-India Levels South Africa On Points Table But Remains At 2nd Position In ODI Rankings, Know Why

What all Team India is doing now is every Indian cricket maniac’s dream since a decade. Virat Kohli led Bleed Blue team has crushed the mighty Australian batsmen with ease. Following the humble 21-run margin in the first match, Indian team now made it little big by terminating Aussies at 202 runs clinching all the wickets at 43.2 overs.

It is skipper Kohli who garnered much-needed 92 runs for the team. Rahane did his best by adding another 55. Just like it was done in the first match of the series, bowlers did their best. Especially, Kuldeep Yadav’s hat-trick-haul was all that mattered as it helped in aborting the top order of the Aussies to decease the team’s uprise.

Amidst all the victorious adventures of TeamIndia, there is another good news that surely is a harbinger of the happiness. With the victory in the second ODI, Indian team’s points on the ODI table summed up to 119 leveling the South African team. Which utmost means that India is now at the 2nd position in ODI rankings. Team India had 117 rating in their account before the game and has 119 now same as that of the Proteas but the Men in Blue haven’t taken them over yet.

Indian squad now has 5,599 points in their account from 47 matches, the ratings for the Indian team is 119.13 (exactly 119.12766) whereas South Africa owns the numero uno position with 5,957 points from 50 matches which accounts to 119.14 ratings. Though the difference in the ratings is that of just 0.01 it however matters.

With the second successive defeat in the series, Australia slipped its position to No.3, whereas the rating points in their account depleted by 2 and are left with 115. Now, as the series moves to the Holkar Stadium in Indore where the 3rd ODI will be played on Sunday, September 24.
