In a country of 1.3 billion people, most of them are obsessed with cricket. Are you one among them? Then how do you stand out as the biggest cricket fan of them all?
There is one person who is a die heart fan of cricket and he is Sudhir Chaudhary. Many of you might have seen him in the cricket stadiums where he was seen supporting and encouraging team India. We’ve all seen him on television, his body painted in the Indian colors, with Sachin Tendulkar’s name painted across, blowing the conch and waving the Indian flag incessantly.
There is another side of Sudhir Chaudhary and many don’t know. Sudhir Chaudhary has set a remarkable example by sponsoring India trip for the Sri Lankan counterpart and his best friend, Gayan Senanayaka. Senanayake, who is the biggest supporter of his national team Sri Lanka, is concurrently witnessing the bilateral series in India.
Sudhir has now won many hearts as he sponsored Senanayaka’s trip to India for the 3-match Test series and also the limited overs series. Gyan had earlier sponsored Sudhir’s last four trips to the Island nation. While the players battle it out in the field, there is no dearth of generosity and love among the fans from both quarters.
“He is more than a friend to me now. We share a great bond. He took good care of me when I went to Sri Lanka, twice in 2012, then in 2015 when Kumara Sangakkara retired and now this (2017) year,” Sudhir recalled. Sudhir paid the money to Senanayaka for flight tickets which further include the traveling cost to witness the fixtures at different venues in India.
Sudhir revealed he had already made his heart to bear all the expenses of Senanayaka after returning from Sri Lanka early this year. “I thought this time I should bear his expenses as he was planning to come for the entire series,” Sudhir pointed out.
Before the third and final Test in New Delhi, Gayan was able to fulfill his wish to see the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra. “I am grateful to Sudhir for showing me, Taj Mahal. I always wanted to go there, but never got an opportunity,” delighted Senanayake said.
However, Senanayake had praised the efforts of Sudhir which further saw him witness the historic mausoleum in the form of Taj Mahal in Agra before both witnessed the third and final Test at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.
Sudhir, who is known for painting the tri-color on his body, has further become a familiar face when it comes to the Indian cricket in a nutshell, as Senanayaka on the other side has been holding the flag of Sri Lanka high during their national fixtures.
The expenses from Sudhir for Senanayaka has been cherished by many which further saw the gentleman’s game witnessed the super fans have had grabbed the attention from time-to-time.
