There have been countless other occasions in IPL Auctions where we’ve seen instances where players are bought for whooping prices. England’s specialist T20 bowler Tymal Mills bought for Rs. 12 Crores and England all-rounder Ben Stokes went for Rs 14.5 Crores.
But there are some other unexpected things happened in IPL 2017 Auction. Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan went unsold in the 2017 Indian Premier League auction and this was a major surprise for many fans. After having been surprisingly ignored in the IPL 2017 auction, Team India discard Irfan Pathan has sent out a heartwarming message to his fans.
He thanked them for their continued support throughout the tough times that the 32-year-old has gone through. The downfall of his career was mostly credited to injuries. However, no injuries were tough enough to break him. He kept fighting hard and made sure he remained in contention for making a comeback.
His experience of 102 IPL matches was a stat good enough to earn him an IPL contract. He has left a heartfelt message to his fans as messages have poured to the cricketer after the IPL auction snub.

In a message posted on Twitter a day after the auctions, Pathan recalled the time in 2010 when he was told he might not be able to play cricket again after suffering as many as five fractures in his back.
Despite all odds, Pathan battled on, even managing to get a place back in the ODI team. Yet, the 2007 World T20 winner, who hasn’t ever played a World Cup game, couldn’t match the magic of old, going out of favor after 2012.
However, the talented 32-year old was not picked up but there is still a chance for Irfan to make a comeback to IPL if any franchise opts for him as a cover to an injured player. We hope Irfan Pathan proves his words and makes a comeback that can make all his fans proud of their hero again.
