After Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma Personally Invites Narendra Modi For His Wedding!

After Yuvraj Singh, Indian team fast-bowler Ishant Sharma who is all set to tie the knot with fiancee Pratima Singh on December 9, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally extend an invitation for his wedding.

On Friday, the couple visited the Prime Minister’s office to take his blessings and to invite him to their wedding. The couple said that they were honoured to meet the PM and grateful that he could meet them.

Also, Ishant posted a picture on his official Twitter account and expressed his glee by writing, “Honored to have met Modiji with my fiancée @PratimaSinghBB thanks to our PM for his time and for all that he has done for the country.”

Pratima, who is originally from Uttar Pradesh had been a member of the India women’s national basketball team since 2003 and her family is known as the “Basket Family of India”.

She’s is one of the five sisters in the family of whom four have actively represented the country in basketball. Their engagement ceremony was held on June 19 and the marriage is scheduled for December 9.

It has become a trend in India for celebrities, especially cricketers, to invite PM to their weddings.

Last week, Yuvraj Singh invited Modi to his wedding reception to be held in Delhi and he was trolled quite heavily after he incorrectly spelled the name of the Prime Minister in the invitation card for the wedding. Thankfully, Ishant Sharma avoided any fiascos in the spelling like his teammate Yuvraj Singh.

While some of the rituals of Ishant and Pratibha’s wedding will take place in Delhi, some others are also said to be taking place in Varanasi, the city Pratibha hails from. The couple had first met on a DDA basketball ground and their friendship gradually bloomed into love.

Ishant missed out on the first three matches of the India-England Test series because of chikungunya and has been drafted as the 16th member of the Delhi Ranji Trophy team.
