After the immense success of the series with Australia, Team India baited its clutches on New Zealand. The beginning is so far very well for India riding on the skipper Virat Kohli’s massive century, dragging the score to 280 in 50 overs. Every batsman gave their best adding maximum runs to the team’s total.
While the match was going on in the high swing as Kiwis bowlers were doing surprisingly well, it is Indian Virat Kohli who is the absolute show stopper. Kohli hit a stunning sixer at when he is at 43 and that’s how he made a fifty with further bang-on shots.
While Virat Kohli has become the man of the moment, it is this young boy in whites, who looked like a teenager. He caught the stunning delivery of Kohli which actually crossed the boundaries, the way he stretched his body to get hold of the ball has surprised the whole Wankhede stadium crowd.
Just as he has done this, the whole attention of the media has immediately shifted to him. His act was re-played multiple times during the match. With this kind of things, it seems like Indian Cricket’s future is in right hands.
Jonty Rhodes, who has been a close observer of Indian cricket because of his time with the Mumbai Indians and as a mentor in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, was one of those who was watching the match and simultaneously providing insights via his Twitter commentary. He was quick to applaud the “pumped up” atmosphere at the Wankhede stadium.
Awesome to see Wankhede “pumping” @mipaltan we know all about it #INDvNZ

Moreover, for a terrific fielder like Jonty Rhodes, the catch that a ball-boy took beyond the boundary off a Virat Kohli shot, it was a treat to the eyes. Interestingly, the ball-boy is an U-14 cricketer under the Mumbai Cricket Association and Jonty was quick to acknowledge the talent Mumbai produces.

Jonty also praised Virat Kohli after scoring a record-breaking 31st century in ODIs. Virat Kohli was at his absolute best in his 200th ODI match and Jonty couldn’t help but shower praise on the Indian skipper as he tweeted.
Special ODI; special achievement; special player; #notjustafinisher @imVkohli

Virat Kohli was the lone warrior for almost all part of the first innings as he racked up 121 runs. Jonty Rhodes and Virat Kohli had featured together for the All Hearts FC in the Celebrity Classico football match last week.
Saw skill of @imVkohli on football field last week; would like to see him on the tennis court, after that double-handed whip across court

He tweeted multiple times across different stages of Kohli’s innings expressing how good his knock was, especially for viewers to watch.
Great leaders take responsibility @imVkohli #topeffort #INDvNZ
