KL Rahul Changes His Name On Twitter In A Bid To Support Nishchay Luthra

Indian cricketers KL Rahul is among the host of cricketers, including Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant, who have pledged their support to young Indian skater Nishchay Luthra. It is a heartwarming gesture from the cricketers by coming out in support to the Indian skater.

Adidas, a sports equipment, and merchandise giant, recently launched a campaign in the name of “#FanFire” in order to raise funds and aid Nishchay’s bid to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Rohit Sharma tweeted about the campaign in support to Nishchay.

While KL Rahul went on to change the display name of his profile to make everyone in India aware of the young skater. Rishabh and Unmukt Chand, who are the brand ambassadors of the brand, also have extended their support by changing their display names and making shout outs to their supporters for donations to help in raising the funds for Nishchay.

 

Adidas started their campaign by posting a video of Nishchay Luthra which reveals the hard work he has put in over the years and the vigorous training he underwent in the United States of America from the age of 10 years.

His coach Vasudev Tandi helped him graduate to Ice Skating. His training in the USA, however, was cut short due to lack of funds and he had to return to India. With eyes on the 2018 Winter Olympics, the skater needs higher financial aid to continue his training and represent the country at the mega event.

Nishchay’s Achievements:

Nishchay has already won 12 medals at National Championships which includes 9 gold and 3 silver medals. He also has a gold and a bronze medal at the international level.

The shout out from the cricketers has gained a significant response as many followers of these Indian players are now keen to know about the Skater, his achievements, and his story. According to the reports, so far Rs. 1.5 lakh have been raised for Nishchay whereas the target total is Rs. 35 lakh by July 19th.
