Mihir Hirwani, son of former Indian cricketer Narendra Hirwani from Madhya Pradesh is set to attend a trial for a franchise of IPL. The leg-spinner is said to attend trials for 3-time title holders, the Mumbai Indians.
The expectations from the young lad will be at a high due to his back name, Hirwani made leg spin famous after picking up sixteen wickets against West Indies on his test debut before Shane Warne made the brand of wrist spin ‘fashionable’. Narendra Hirwani was a leg-spinner and is known for his heroic debut at a young age of 19.
So, Mihir will also look to start his career with a bang in the IPL, the trials will determine the amount he will fetch in the league auction which is on 27 and 28 January in Bengaluru.
Mihir Hirwani has played a total of 13 first-class games for Madhya Pradesh in which he has scalped 45 wickets. He has also played one T20 game for Madhya Pradesh. He made his first-class debut in 2015/16 season. Following his debut, Narendra Hirwani resigned from the post of MPCA selector to avoid unnecessary allegations.
As the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is preponed, it has opened the gates for a lot of youngsters. Mihir will look to perform in the T20 tournament and establish himself in the shortest format.
