If you haven’t noticed, the former Indian Cricket captain MS Dhoni doesn’t have national flag on his helmet. While it is one of the proudest moments in the world for every sportsperson to represent their country, every player has his own way to express it. Some express this by putting tattoos on their bodies, and while the Indian cricketers does this by printing the tri-color flag on the helmet.
So, this was a surprise for many of the cricket fans who have noticed that MS Dhoni didn’t have the national flag engraved on the top of his helmet.
MS Dhoni is one of the most respected players in the International Cricket and has gained millions of fans with his impeccable captaincy leading the team to victory in many tournaments including the world cup championship in 2011.
Though no one questions his dedication towards his nation or the seriousness towards his game, not having the Indian flag on his helmet has got many of the Cricket fans curious and they started to dig the reasons for this.
While many theories and reasons are making rounds on this, we have found a sanest answer for this – MS Dhoni is part of the Indian Army and we have seen time and again in the Indian Army uniform with great attention and even with greater respect towards the nation.
Thus, Dhoni would be aware of the code of conduct of the national flag that a National Flag shouldn’t be placed on the ground.
Since MS Dhoni is a wicket keeper, who has to keep the helmet on and off the ground while doing the job behind the stumps, Dhoni can either put the helmet with the flag on the ground or not put the flag on the helmet at all.
MS Dhoni, being an Army officer and as a Cricketer has to abide his duty more religiously, who is also blessed with many fans and youngsters who look up to him and follow him, he is thus setting an example for them to follow and not to set a bad predicament by putting the national flag on the ground.
