If ever a compilation of MS Dhoni’s sixes is made, the one he had hit in the final of 2011 World Cup to win the title for India would unarguably sit atop of the list. The image of MS Dhoni smashing the ball into the stands at Wankhede stadium to hit the winning runs in the 2011 World Cup 2011 against Sri Lanka is still etched in the minds of one and all forever.
Whenever Dhoni hits a six, fans go crazy in the stadium and would be delighted to see Mr. Cool smashing the opponent bowlers. Yet again, the best finisher of world cricket smashed a six of the last ball of the innings.
The former Indian captain, who is often seen enthralling fans with his giant maximums in the match, unleashed a special one for the Cuttack crowd yesterday in the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka. Team India brutally thrashed the visitors by 93 runs to register the biggest T20I win and take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.
While KL Rahul scored 61 at the top, it was MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey’s blitzkrieg in the end which saw them adding 61 runs in last four fours. Coming at number four, India were 101/2 in 12.4 fours as Dhoni took a bit of time before launching Sri Lankan bowlers for four fours and one six in his unbeaten innings of 39 off 22.
MS Dhoni played a gem of an innings and hit four fours and a six, but the best of the lot was the last hit of the innings, which went for a huge six. Thisara Perera tired to York the former India captain but, it ended up as a low full toss for Dhoni. The 36-year-old Indian got himself low and lofted the ball over mid-wicket boundary for a huge six.
Dhoni launched the ball into orbit, as the deep square leg fielder felt that he had a chance. But that belief was short-lived, as he could only watch the ball sail over his head and into the crowd. ‘Dhoni finishes it off in style.’

Later, Indian bowlers produced a disciplined performance to bowl out Lanka for a paltry total of 93 runs. India has already won both the Test and ODI series. The second match of T20I series will be played in Indore on December 22.
