Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni is now stuck in trouble for his activity on Twitter. The world cup winning captain had joined Twitter back in November 2009. In his eight-year tryst with the microblogging site, Dhoni has 6.8 million followers and surprisingly has tweeted only 45 times.
Until this week, he had liked only two tweets from his account. After this wild gap, Dhoni had liked journalist Rajdeep Sardesai’s tweet for the first time on March 10, 2013. His second like came for a tweet from the BCCI about a Ranji Trophy match between Hyderabad and Services in 2014 December.
And the third like from his handle has happened on Tuesday and his choice sparked a huge controversy on the social media. The Ranchi batsman liked a controversial tweet from @Inkhabar, the official handle for India News. The tweet featured a link containing the news about fixing of the 2019 World Cup.
This controversial news was written in Hindi. When translated, it reads, ‘Confirmed: Virat Kohli’s Team India is going to win the 2019 ICC Cricket World: Match Fixed.’
Despite these statements, the tweet also mentions the accounts of Kohli, Dhoni, Ravi Shastri, the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Mohammad Azharuddin, Anurag Thakur, Rajiv Shukla, Sharad Pawar, Gautam Gambhir and Ajay Jadeja in its tags.

Soon after acknowledging this like from Dhoni, the journalist has run a story boasting of the fact that their tweet was liked by former Indian skipper.

Coming to the professional front of Dhoni, he is currently part of Indian cricket team taking on Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series. In recent times, many people had questioned his place in the team, but his recent performances are a strong indication that he could play in the 2019 World Cup which will be held in England.
