Compared to different sports across the world, cricket is one of the most loved sports. There was a time when cricket used to be known as the ‘Gentleman’s Game’. As the time passed, and with the involvement of technology, both the technique and style of playing cricket has changed drastically.
Modern day cricketers use a number of new, experimental shots to upset the bowler’s rhythm and destroy their field plan. Particularly, this has changed with the start of T20 cricket, modern cricket is getting faster day by day. It doesn’t allow the players to stick to textbook shots.
The massive run chases urge the batsmen to move out of their comfort zone and try things out of the box. Thus, unorthodox shots originate out of the street cricket where one has to score runs out of tricky situations. One such move was seen in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
The ousted Pakistani cricketer Fawad Alam has come up with a unique batting stance which has surprised everyone around in the cricketing fraternity. In the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the first-class cricket in Pakistan, the cricketer displayed a hilarious stance similar to the legend of West Indies Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Even though Fawad could not score runs with his new stance and was dismissed instead, the move was quite interesting to see. Fawad is striving hard to make a comeback in the national side. The world cricket has already seen a completely different batting stance from Chanderpaul. But Fawad Alam now has the weirdest of stances with his feet pointing nowhere.
In the match between Sui Southern Gas Corporation and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, he was found leaving all his three wickets open for a bowler to aim. Fawad went on to play Hussain Talat’s delivery way outside his off-stump and edged it to the gully fielder Ali Waqas on just 10.

Fawad himself has been unable to lead the team from the front and has only scored 225 runs in 8 innings at a mediocre average of 32.14. Though he has smashed a century and a half-century, he has lacked consistency and would love to come back in form soon.
Fawad is leading Sui Southern Gas Corporation side in the tournament. He has captained the team well and they are at the top of the points table in the pool A of the competition.
