With cricket being the most followed sport in India, every other game is overshadowed by either media, or public, or the government. However, there’s no one to be blamed, as following and liking a certain game is simply individual.
These days, especially, post the Olympics, people on social media started bashing the authorities for the inadequate facilities offered to the sportspersons. Some are legit, but some sounded bit excessive and illogical.
In a row of illogical events, Indian snooker champ Pankaj Arjan Advani landed himself into some controversy after winning the Asian Team Championship 2017. The professional English Billiards player took to Twitter to express his happiness after laying his hands on the title, however, his tweet ended up bit displeasing to netizens.
We r not demigods, we r not cricketers.. We r the Asian Team Snooker Champions 2017 🏆 What a feeling! pic.twitter.com/ogd1WfNgzG
— Pankaj Advani (@PankajAdvani247) July 5, 2017
Twitteratti blasted the Padma Shri winner for the way he captioned it. He posted a few photos with his teammates and the trophy to give everyone a hint of the proud moment, he, in his tweet said: “children of God, nor they are cricketers, but they are the winner of the Asian Team Snooker Championship.
His tweet read “We r not demigods, we r not cricketers. We r the Asian Team Snooker Champions 2017 What a feeling!”.
And Twitter didn’t spare him in any way, check out the Twitter reactions here:
Congratulations! But what take a dig at cricketers? They’re your fellow sportsmen and represent India the same way you do.

Taking a dig because cue sports and @PankajAdvani247 do not get the recognition and rewards for representing the country..

Agree. Take a dig at the authorities. Also we are to be blamed equally. We create demigods out of b’wood n cricketers. Why blame them?

Not cricketers’ fault if they are loved & worshiped! They represent India only. Stop taunting them at everything ok? Congratulations thou 🙂
