In a series of tweets, the Olympic silver medalist recalled her ordeal and went on to accuse the airline ground staff member of behaving rudely with her. She claimed that Mr. Ajeetesh, who as per her works for Indigo, behaved rudely with her and an air hostess who intervened to advise him against doing so.

“Sorry to say… I had a very bad experience when I was flying by 6E 608 flight to Bombay on 4th November the ground staff by name Mr. Ajeetesh(1/3),” Sindhu tweeted.

She then posted a screenshot, detailing her experience. “Ground staff (skipper) Mr. Ajeetesh behaved very badly and rudely with me. When the air hostess Ms. Ashima tried to advise him to behave properly with the passenger (me) but to my surprise, he behaved very rudely with her. If this type of people works for a reputed (sic) airline like indigo they will spoil their reputation @IndiGo6E,” she posted on Twitter.

Sindhu went on to post another tweet saying, “Please speak to Ms. Ashima she will explain you in detail.”

Meanwhile, Indigo responded to Sindhu and wrote, “Hi! We’d like to speak with you. Kindly confirm if we may contact you on your registered number with us and share a convenient time to speak via DM so we may contact you.”

However, it still remains unclear as to what exactly transpired between the ground staff and Sindhu which led to her outcry on social media. While Indigo has promised to take action, this not the first time that a sportsperson has been miffed with an airline company.

Earlier, legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar had expressed anger after British Airways did not confirm a waitlisted ticket of Tendulkar’s family member despite seats being available.

PV Sindhu is set to take part in seven-day Senior National Badminton Championship which begins on Thursday. Apart from Sindhu, all the top Indian shuttlers including Kidambi Srikanth and Saina Nehwal will also take part in the tournament.
