The current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is on a high of his career. Scoring his third double century to becoming the fastest batsman in the world to score a T20I century, he has achieved almost everything. But the journey to this day was not an easy one for Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma is in exciting form breaking record after record and has been in the headlines recently for his six hitting ability and his marathon innings in the limited-overs format. There are many incidents which celebrities experience in common as we all do. And even the HITman had a horrifying experience.
Rohit Sharma has revealed how he was threatened with imprisonment by Mumbai police due to playing cricket! He recently spoke about the incident in Gaurav Kapur’s show “Breakfast With Champions”.
“My family always liked cricket. In a day, if not for all the 24 hours, at least 16 hours we used to watch cricket. All my chachas (uncles) and two buas (aunts) and all my chachas have played cricket, not at the highest level but in school and college,” Rohit told Kapoor.
“Once police came and threatened me with putting me in jail if repeated. All the neighbors were troubled by us daily (breaking glasses). We were three to four of us who played cricket always. Later we used to go to grounds and play but we never completely let go of playing in our building. We never gave up on that,” Rohit said.
Adding to this, the Hitman spoke about a lot of other different things, which include his first meeting with his wife Ritika, pranks played by the Indian cricketers, the day when he forgot his wedding ring in his hotel room, Sachin Tendulkar and more.
He shared the experience he has all these days while starting the innings alongside Shikhar Dhawan. All this started when Gaurav questioned about it. Rohit started off the matter by calling Dhawan ‘A Crazy Man’. Chuckling at his own comment, Rohit cleared off the air saying that Dhawan is quite energetic and loves challenges.
Rohit spoke about the Australian series when he used to stay along with Dhawan. He went revealing that both became close during those days and they developed quite an affirming interactive impulses and it is pretty easy for the both to understand when to run and when not to on the ground standing at the opposite wickets.
